Portuguese tiles, also called cement tiles, are handmade tiles, each one produced in an artisanal manner. And when we say piece by piece, we mean each and every piece. The production process for these patterned tiles has never been lost, and we still make them the same way we did in the last century. Using a pattern mold, the pattern is poured in color by color until the entire pattern is visible. Because we work with natural materials, cement tiles have those characteristic color nuances and irregularities. No two tiles are the same, and therefore their color may vary. This is inherent to this type of tile and should therefore be considered normal. You are unique too!

Cement tiles require a little extra TLC to install. They’re not ceramic tiles, after all. That’s why we have handy and comprehensive installation instructions on our website. You’ll always receive this digitally when you request a quote or purchase it. You’ll receive a step-by-step plan detailing the best way to treat the tiles. Always have your tiler read this plan. We always recommend reading this manual carefully and purchasing all the products we recommend. This will maintain the warranty and prevent many problems beforehand. A good tiler will also always be able to provide you with advice. It’s important to choose a tiler with some experience with this type of tile.
What are your tiles suitable for?
Cement tiles are beautiful tiles suitable for any room in the home, such as a bathroom, kitchen, hallway, or toilet. They’re also increasingly used in cafes, restaurants, and other hospitality venues. They’re even becoming more common in offices. Portuguese cement tiles can be used for both flooring and walls. If you’re planning to use Portuguese tiles outdoors, please contact our customer service first to discuss the options. If your floor isn’t covered and safely protected from the elements, it might be a good idea to consider a floor made of antique ceramic tiles.

Cement tiles are available in many different sizes, colors, and patterns. We also provide cement tiles with custom colors and patterns, completely tailored to your wishes. Each batch may exhibit color variations or irregularities. This is due to the production process and should be considered normal. But that’s precisely why our customers choose this product. They don’t want the run-of-the-mill tiles with digital prints that you can find in every hardware store these days.
How can I order from you and how do I get everything delivered?
Most tiles are packaged in 0.48 m² boxes. You can find the delivery unit for each type of patterned tile on our website.
But how do I know how many tiles to order? Don’t worry, when you visit our showroom, we’re happy to help with expert and honest advice about your personal project. We can always assist you with calculating the required quantities, and you’ll always receive a customized quote first.
We have a large inventory, so you can often take your order with you right away. However, if your order is too heavy, you can always choose to have it delivered to your home by one of our carriers. We’ll give you a quote based on the number of tiles and their weight. Delivery of the tiles is always fast and damage-free.
Visiting our showroom is always preferred. If the tiles are in stock, you can usually take them with you immediately, which of course saves on transport costs. We have a forklift available to load pallets into your van or trailer.

Cement tile maintenance
Weekly maintenance of your Portuguese floor is child’s play. The floor is easy to maintain. You can vacuum daily, and we recommend mopping at least once a week with Floor Soap concentrate. This is a specially formulated acid-free floor soap for Portuguese tile floors. It also provides extra protection to the surface.
You do need to be careful with acids like citric acid and other fruit acids. These can cause unsightly stains that are difficult to remove later.
